Can you believe May has arrived in Boston? Before you know
it, the pools will open, the sundresses will appear and the summer Boston Real Estate market will be underway! Of course, the spring market is already
something to brag about. According to recent NAR statistics, home sales in
March increased to a near two-year high!
As your Boston Real Estate agent, it’s my duty to make sure
you know how significant these statistics are to potential homebuyers. First of
all, an increase in pending home sales means that people are still buying homes
and believing in homeownership. Secondly, it means that you could miss out on
the Boston home of your dreams if you don’t act now!
Need more convincing? Here is more proof from recent media
that NOW is the time to buy a home in the Boston Real Estate market:
- In Massachusetts alone, pending home sales have risen for 11 straight months! Homes under agreement rose 40 percent in March, and pending home sales rose 38 percent, according to a recent MAR report.
- This U.S. News & World Report article clearly states that rentals are continuing to rise while home prices and housing costs are continuing to decrease. Why waste your money renting when you could invest it in affordable housing?
- Afraid that home prices will continue to fall and you’ll lose money in the investment? NAR recently stated that because of increased home sales, they predict the rest of 2012 to be a year of housing recovery.
- Zillow also reported recently that home values are on the rise in many places, rising 0.5 percent from February to March, which was the largest increase since May 2006. They take this as a sign that prices will bottom out this year and then begin to rise!
- Adding to the current affordability of housing is the fact that mortgage rates are holding near record lows. According to Housing Wire, a 30-year mortgage rate is averaged around 3.88 percent, while a 15-year is averaged at 3.12 percent.
What does all this mean? It means that because of low
mortgage rates and low home prices, you can purchase a Boston home for
historically low costs. Then, if the Boston Real Estate market recovers like so
many real estate professionals are predicting, you walk away with an impressive
investment. If it doesn’t, you still score a Boston home for a much lower price
than what it’s worth.
Don’t wait, though! Other Bostonians read the same news and
know that now is the time to buy a home in Boston! Homes are selling, and one
of my listings might be the home of your dreams. Contact me, your Boston RealEstate agent, so we can get started on finding you your perfect American dream
