I want to first announce that my heart is with all those
affected by the events that occurred at the Boston Marathon this week. What is
truly amazing is how our great city of Boston has come together to get through it, in harmony with one another, and the heroes that arose from it. We live in
a great city and nothing can bring down the great people of Boston!
As a Boston real estate agent who has spent years in the
Boston, MA area, I’m always thrilled to hear when a new business opens and
prospers in the area. Have you heard of Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital? It
has many locations around the Boston, MA area, but its newest facility opens in
Charlestown, MA on April 27.
To celebrate the excitement and warmth they’ve already
experienced from Charlestown residents, they are hosting a free Open House and Community Health Fair, open to the public on April 21 from 1 to 5 p.m.! Mark
your calendars and plan to check them out at 300 First Avenue in the historic
Charlestown Navy Yard.
At this fair, held rain or shine, plan to enjoy free
hospital tours, health and wellness activities, children’s programs and healthy
snacks, all while enjoying time with special guest Karson Tager from Mix 104.1FM’s
"Karson & Kenny In The Morning" show, and players and mascots from the New
England Patriots and New England Revolution!
Who is Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital and what do they
do? Spaulding will play an active role in the community, helping people with
disabilities regain strength and improve the quality of their lives. This
includes athletes of all kinds, and our faithful, returning veterans
.
However, Spaulding also hopes to advance the overall health
of every Charlestown resident, which makes the Health Fair a great event to
participate in! Anyone with a disability is welcome as well, the event is fully
accessible.
For disability requests, you can call Betsy Pillbury at
617-573-2344. For questions about the event, call Rebecca Kaiser at 617-573-2837.
For more information about the event, visit the Facebook event page, and for more
information about Spaulding, visit their website.
During this difficult time in Boston, MA, as our city heals
from the events of earlier this week, it’s nice to know that there is a safe, fun
community event to attend this weekend. Enjoy and stay safe, Boston!
