End of Summer Events to Enjoy In Boston!

Do you consider the end of August the end of summer in Boston? Even though summer technically runs until Sept. 22, it’s hard to still consider it summer when the kids are back in school, pools are closed, weather is cooling and fall activities pop up. Therefore, we must celebrate summer in Boston during this last week and a half of August!

Through Labor Day weekend, you can continue to enjoy summer activities, festivals and events throughout the Boston area. As your Boston Real Estate agent, I threw together a quick go-to schedule! Browse these events and jot down the ones that interest you most:
  • Tonight, head to the Boston Children’s Museum… without the kids. That’s right; the museum is offering a Boston Grown Ups Night, beginning at 6 p.m.! You get to enjoy beer, wine and food while blowing bubbles, crawling, climbing and more.
  • If you’re a fan of beer, then Mass Brewers Fest is for you! Head to the World Trade Center on Aug. 24 from 6 to 9:30 p.m. to sample over 100 beers from over 20 Massachusetts brewers. There will also be live music and plenty of chances to meet other beer enthusiasts. Tickets cost $35 in advance and $40 at the door.
  • There isn’t anything quite like seeing the Boston skyline from the water, right? On Aug. 25, enjoy a Charles Riverboat Cocktail Cruise to benefit the National MS Society. Boarding begins at 5:45 p.m. and the cruise takes off from 6 to 9 p.m. Advance ticket purchase is required. Email Susan at shmessner@yahoo.com
  • Also on Aug. 25, you can head to Thompson Island for the MBLA Third Annual Summer Clambake! It’s as great as it sounds, including clam chowder, lobster, mussels, chicken, vegetarian lasagna, corn on the cob and more, plus two hours of premium open bar! • If you’re a fan of wine, you’ll definitely be interested in joining Cabernet Day at Seaport Hotel. It’s a global celebration of Cabernet Sauvignon on Aug. 30, and from 5 to 8 p.m. that day, you can join in by sampling some of the best Cabernet from around Boston. Then you have to share your opinions with the rest of the world on social media!
  • Aug. 31 is your last chance to enjoy DJs on the Harbor! At 7:30 p.m., head to the Institute of Contemporary Art to view an abundance of art galleries, sip on cocktails, munch on food and then dance the night away under the stars outside on the Putnam Investments Plaza.
  • You have two Fridays left to enjoy MFA Summer Fridays in the Calderwood Courtyard at the Museum of Fine Arts. From 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., you can enjoy live music and a cash bar. Aug. 24 will feature Loss Three, a Latin trio, hosted by Regie Gibson, and Aug. 31 will feature Seth Connelly and Friends, a vocal guitar trio. Admission is free with purchase of a MFA admission ticket.
Hope this list helped you determine how to spend your last summer days of August in Boston. While you’re at it, check out what’s available on the Boston Real Estate market!
